Barcelona has one of the busiest cruise ports in the Mediterranean with seven terminals. Most ships dock at terminals A to E near the World Trade Centre, roughly 3 km from the city centre.

Free shuttle (Bus del Port) runs from all terminals to the Columbus Monument every 20 minutes. This is your easiest route into the city.

3 km from Las Ramblas. Take the free shuttle or a taxi.

Terminal C/D

2 km from Las Ramblas. Shuttle runs from here. 30 min walk is feasible.

Terminal E

1 km from World Trade Centre. Walkable to Columbus Monument and Las Ramblas.

Scam alerts

Barcelona is safe but busy. These are the most common issues cruise passengers encounter.

Las Ramblas pickpockets

The most common issue in Barcelona. Keep bags in front of you. Never use your phone openly on the Ramblas. Use a money belt for passports and spare cash.

Shell game and street card tricks

Illegal. Bystanders watching are usually accomplices. Do not stop, do not watch, and do not bet under any circumstances.

Fake monks giving gifts

Men in robes place a bracelet or rosary in your hand then demand payment. If anything is placed in your hands, return it immediately and walk away.

Taxi without a meter

Official Barcelona taxis are yellow with a black diagonal stripe. Always confirm the meter is running when you get in. Agree on nothing without it.

Overpriced restaurants on Las Ramblas

Not exactly a scam, but restaurants on the main boulevard charge significantly more than the same food one block back. Turn left or right off the Ramblas and you will find local prices immediately.

Nearest hospital: Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Carrer de Sant Antoni Maria Claret 167. Approximately 40 minutes from the port.

Do not miss your ship

Check your ship's daily newsletter for your exact terminal letter (A, B, C, D or E). They are not all in the same location.

Allow at least 45 minutes to get from the city centre back to the ship in normal traffic. Add 30 minutes in peak season.

If visiting Sagrada Familia or Park Guell, leave by 2:30 PM for a typical 6 PM sailing departure.

The free Port Shuttle runs back to the ship from Columbus Monument. Allow 30 minutes including waiting time at peak hours.

If anchored (tender port): last tender is usually 60 minutes before sailing. Check your ship card.
